Sawmill Assistant Wanted..

Graythwaite Sawmill is looking for a Sawmill Assistant to assist within the mill and firewood area.

We have an excellent opportunity to join a stunning family-run country Estate set in the heart of the Lake District, which is in an exciting stage of business development.

You will be joining a high energy, high performing core Estate team of 11 people. Alongside other business activities, Graythwaite Estate includes a collection of Luxury Holiday Cottages and two complexes spread across the 5000-acre Estate.

Experience within a similar role is essential, along with a valid chainsaw ticket and clean driving licence. Tractor and digger experience is required and a trailer licence is desirable.

Your main role would be to assist with the preparation of orders and firewood. As well as maintaining the sawmill and yard – keeping the areas tidy at all times, including being in charge of the clearance of bark and sawdust build-up from the milling machinery.

A flexible approach is required for this varied role, with the possibility of helping out around other areas of the Estate.

We are looking for a punctual, hard-working, self-motivated individual, with a good knowledge of Health and Safety and who can take instruction and work on their own if required.

This role is based on working 32 hours per week and flexible working can be discussed. Rates of pay depend on experience.
