Ponsse's New Service Centre In Russia

Ponsse’s New Service Centre In Tomsk Russia – Ponsse has invested more than €2 million in the construction of a new service centre in Tomsk, West Siberian, Russia. The grand opening of the new service centre took place on 11 November 2021. Large stocks and an efficient logistics system guarantee customers short service times and fast spare parts deliveries.

The investment aimed to create a modern service centre with a current repair area and a logistics centre with a spare parts warehouse. This training centre offers skills on PONSSE harvesters and forwarders, and an in-depth knowledge of the structure and operation of technology. In total, the centre employs 26 people.

“Ponsse has been active in Tomsk for about 15 years, and our dealer company Zeppelin Russland played a vital role at the start. From the outset, Ponsse has been fortunate enough to work with very active and loyal customers and partners who have supported and appreciated the excellent progress of Ponsse’s operations in the region. Especially good, fruitful cooperation has developed with an experienced local logger and timber processor, Alexei Vasilyevich Maslov, whose company has helped us grow for many years”, says Jaakko Laurila, Managing Director of OOO Ponsse.

“The opening of the state-of-the-art new service center is a natural development, as the client base and Ponsse machine fleet in the area are growing from year to year. Our clients in the Tomsk region are professional and ambitious, and to support the growth of their logging business, Ponsse needs to develop accordingly,” Laurila explains.

“Over the years, we’ve also seen and felt a good creative relationship with the Administration of the Tomsk region, which was one of the main reasons why Ponsse decided to invest in Tomsk”, Laurila thanks.

Today, the Ponsse service network in Russia includes 44 service centres that belong to ООО Ponsse, a dealer company. In total, the network employs about 650 PONSSE specialists, most of whom are technical personnel. All specialists are constantly undergoing advanced training. According to the unified service standards, “ESW – Effective Safety Workshop – Effective and Safe Working Environment”, ООО Ponsse pays excellent attention to the quality of services and maintains them at a high Ponsse standard level in dealer companies.

In addition to employees, the Governor of the Tomsk Region Sergey Anatolyevich Zhvachkin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ponsse Plc Jarmo Vidgren, Managing Director of OOO Ponsse Jaakko Laurila, and other honoured guests and officials attended to the opening ceremony.
