IVECO S-eWay, the new electric heavyweight with a long-haul range of up to 600 kilometres
IVECO is taking another step towards zero-emission transport with the introduction of the new S-eWay, an all-electric tractor unit. The new model is the next step in IVECO’s electric vehicle launches, following the recently launched S-eWay long platform.

The S-eWay tractor unit is the latest addition to IVECO’s range of heavy-duty electric vehicles. The S-eWay tractor unit is ready to electrify even the most demanding journeys in the Nordic region, with a range of up to 600 kilometres, 350 kW fast charging and a battery charging system optimised for northern weather conditions.
“We recently introduced the IVECO S-eWay long platform to our Nordic customers. The reception has been very positive. Now we are taking the next leap. The S-eWay tractor unit proves that battery electricity is a realistic and reliable option for the needs of long distances and heavy transports, even in our demanding Nordic climate. The demand for electric transport solutions is growing rapidly. The S-eWay tractor unit meets this demand with the longest range and driving comfort in its class,” says KÃ¥re Neergaard, Product and Marketing Director at Hedin Nordic Truck (IVECO’s Nordic representative).

Designed for Nordic conditions
The S-eWay tractor unit is designed to operate in temperatures between -30 and +45 degrees. This is possible thanks to a thermally optimised battery management system and three high-performance LFP battery packs. The total capacity of the batteries is 603 kWh, which is 97% usable. Fast charging from 20% to 80% takes just 60 minutes, allowing you to use the vehicle flexibly during long working days and tight schedules.
“Our customer base stretches from south to north, and they have one thing in common: they need solutions that work regardless of weather, distance or load. With the S-eWay tractor unit, we can meet these requirements – fully electrically,” continues KÃ¥re Neergaard.
One of the most prominent features of the S-eWay tractor unit is its extended, aerodynamically optimised front, the AeroCab, which is 26 cm longer than conventional cab solutions and is designed to meet the latest EU requirements for aerodynamic efficiency. The design solution improves both energy efficiency and range, while allowing for longer vehicle combinations without compromising on turning radius.
“An aerodynamic front has a significant impact on both energy efficiency and total cost of ownership in the long term. It is designed to work in reality, not only in a wind tunnel, but in practical conditions,” Neergaard emphasizes.

A safe choice for the future
IVECO’s new truck is based on the manufacturer’s well-established S-Way model. It offers driver-oriented comfort, intelligent route planning and an electric axle (e-axel) manufactured by its sister company FPT Industrial. The electric axle delivers a continuous 480 kW of power directly to the drive wheels without the energy loss of conventional transmissions.
In addition, IVECO offers an industry-leading warranty of up to 10 years or 1.2 million kilometres.
“We want to make the electric transition as simple and safe as possible for people other than transport companies. Our goal is to offer a comprehensive package that will last far into the future, from the first-class vehicle to its ancillary services,” concludes KÃ¥re Neergaard.
Sales of the new IVECO S-eWay model are expected to start in autumn 2025.
