Diary Dates for 2025.

2025 is a quieter than usual year for events but nonetheless there are still some shows well worth visiting. Here is a selection of some of the ones most relevant for people on the front line of forestry.

I have done my best to make sure all the information and dates are correct but please check the organisers websites in case of changes prior to booking and travelling.

FORST LIVE, OFFENBURG 11-13 April 2025 (GERMANY)

FORSTlive is a renowned trade fair for technology, energy and hunting which takes place annually in Offenburg, Germany. It is an important event for professionals, companies, and those interested in forestry who want to find out about, and exchange information about, the latest technologies, products, and services. The fair attracts both national and international visitors and exhibitors and offers a platform for the presentation of innovations and solutions in the forest and wood industries. The FORSTlive was first held in 2000 and has since developed into one of the leading trade fairs in the forestry and related industries.It extends over several days and offers a diverse program of live demonstrations, specialist lectures, workshops, and product presentations. A special feature of FORSTlive is the practical relevance of the event, which enables visitors to experience machines, devices, and technologies in action on-site. These include, for example, wood harvesters, cable winches, forestry tractors, and other vehicles that are demonstrated under real conditions. This enables the participants to better assess the functionality and performance of the products and technologies presented and to convince themselves of their quality.

FORSTlive offers a platform for companies and professionals to present innovative solutions and technologies in the field of renewable energies, especially wood energy and biomass. LIGNA, HANOVER 26-30 MAY 2025 (GERMANY)

The name “LIGNA” is derived from the Latin word “lignum,” which means “wood.” The trade fair carries this name to emphasize its focus on the forestry and woodworking industries, as well as wood processing. The LIGNA is an international trade fair for the forestry and woodworking industries, held every two years at the Hanover Exhibition Grounds in Germany. The Hanover Exhibition Grounds are among the largest and most modern in the world, covering an area of around one million square meters. LIGNA was first held as an independent fair in 1975; prior to that, it was a subsection of the Hanover Fair, and has since become one of the most important industry trade fairs.The fair is organized by Deutsche Messe AG, a leading company in the field of trade fair organization and execution, in collaboration with the VDMA Woodworking Machinery Association. The fair offers a comprehensive presentation of products and services in the fields of forestry, woodworking, furniture manufacturing, and bioenergy. The LIGNA will take place on 5 days from Monday, 26. May to Friday, 30. May 2025 in Hanover.

For Visitors – Forestry Fair

ELMIA WOOD, VAGGERYD 4-7 JUNE 2025 (SWEDEN)

On the forestry trade fair Elmia Wood, the most important international event of its kind, being held outdoors near Jönköping, all technical innovations of the major machine manufacturers as well as the small supplier companies are exposed and presented in an authentic environment, namely in the forest. The interactive event also provides a great opportunity to be extensively advised by forestry experts, to get to know new methods to solve a problem as well as to get tips on how to increase efficiency and profitability. A visit to the exhibition is therefore very worthwhile especially for foresters.

On the whole the organisers welcomed on the 4 days of the fair, from 05. June to 08. June 2013, about 503 exhibitors and 54215 visitors on the Elmia Wood in Vaggeryd.

ASTURFORESTA TINEO 19-21 JUNE 2025 (SPAIN)

The ASTURFORESTA International Forestry Fair is a forestry reference in southern Europe and a meeting point for the forestry sector, where the technical advances of the sector will be presented, as well as the market situation at a national and international level.

Asturforesta celebrated its first edition in 1997, being a meeting place for professionals in the wood and forestry industry sector, constituting a milestone in the sector due to its status as the first edition of Asturforesta. “Fair in Real Working Conditions”. Asturforesta brings together a wide range of state-of-the-art machinery and professionals of the sector, who can see them in real working conditions.

Asturforesta is held every two years in the incomparable natural setting of Monte Armayán, a forest of radiata and Pinus radiata and Pinus pinaster pine with an area of 550 hectares, of which the Fair occupies 45 hectares.

FORSTMESSE, LUCERNE 21-24 AUGUST (SWITZERLAND)

The International Forestry Fair in Lucerne is a significant meeting point for the forestry industry and its suppliers. Since 1971, the Forestry Fair has enjoyed an excellent reputation across Europe as a leading and selling fair along the forest-timber chain, and it is the largest fair in Switzerland for new and further developments in forest management.
