John Deere set a new standard in harvesting in 2024 with the introduction of the first H-Series forest machines that took productivity and joy of work to a whole new level. Now, the range of large-scale forest machine models is supplemented with the 8-wheel harvester 1470H 8W. Together with the new H427 harvester head, they form an unbeatable power duo for handling large trees, working on slopes and particularly demanding terrain.

The John Deere 1470H 8W will also be the main attraction of the John Deere stand at the Forexpo exhibition in France, June 18-20.

The biggest customer benefits of the new H-series harvesters are significantly higher productivity and lower fuel consumption per cubic meter produced than the previous models. The high-performance engine has 10 percent more power and torque, and the optimized hydraulics provide more power and higher working pressure for the feed, while ensuring high fuel efficiency.

Compared to its six-wheeled sister model, the eight-wheeled 1470H brings more traction to the slopes. The powerful H9 boom introduced in connection with the H-series best supports the performance of a “big hand-wheeler” in the most demanding challenges.

The active cylinder body lock stabilises work on steep slopes as well as on flat terrain, especially when the boom is on the side of the machine, which means a wider working area for the operator. When the weight of the machine is optimally distributed over eight wheels, stability is even better and work is easy and precise.

Comfort and visibility

John Deere cabs are designed to keep operators energized throughout the workday. Every detail of the H-series harvesters is designed to improve operator comfort and ease of use.

A swivel and stabilizing cab with an increased turning angle of 220 degrees is standard on the H-Class, providing the driver with excellent visibility of the working area. The hydraulic oil and fuel tanks and pumps are located in front of the engine and the radiator and fan are located behind the engine, which, together with the sound-insulating interior materials, makes the cab very quiet.

The high-quality lighting solutions of the new H-series ensure a good view of the entire working area, while the lowered rear of the machine significantly improves visibility to the rear.

The smart key in the cab is a remote control that unlocks the door and starts the PC and the TimberMatic control system with driver-specific configurations. It can also be tailored separately for maintenance personnel and trailer operators.

TimberMatic H automation encourages the operator to focus on the best possible performance. The visual and intuitive user interface brings only the essential information related to the work steps to the main screen, and the basic machine functions and camera views have been transferred to the additional screen.

The intelligent boom tip control IBC makes boom work accurate, fast and smooth, allowing the operator to focus on controlling the harvester head instead of moving the boom parts.

The programmable buttons on the control levers bring additional ease to repetitive work steps.

Smooth daily maintenance and the longest service intervals on the market

Good serviceability is one of the trump cards of the H-series machines. The modular design and easy-to-replace parts keep maintenance effortless, reducing machine maintenance time and minimizing environmental impact. Daily maintenance has also been made easy. All liquid filling points are located behind a single service door. The machines are equipped with an electronic engine oil level sensor and a central lubrication system for ease of use.

The John Deere ProtectTM service agreement offers the longest service intervals on the market for H-series machines, up to 1000 hours.

Power and performance – The new harvester head H427 is a trusted partner for large harvesters

The new H427 is John Deere’s most powerful harvester head for handling large trees. Its robust construction and wide tilt angle of 146.5 degrees ensure smooth work even on steep slopes and in the most demanding conditions. The harvester head is in a class of its own, especially when handling large trunks, and its measurement quality and maintainability are first-class.

The H427 harvester head is fully compatible with the H-series harvesters 1270H and 1470H.
