Lube-En from the Finnish company EnviOn is an environmentally friendly and biodegradable chainsaw lubricating oil
EnviOn, a Finnish company known for manufacturing marking colours for harvesters, has launched the biodegradable synthetic lubricant Lube-En for harvesters chainsaws
It is a fully and quickly biodegradable water-soluble Finnish product that meets all the required standards.
Synthetic Lube-En keeps the chainsaw chain lubricated even at high cutting speeds.
The excellent adhesion Lube-En lubricant is suitable for all year-round use.
The lubricant consumption of the saw chain can be adjusted so it is significantly less with Lube-En compared to mineral oil-based lubricants.
This lubricant is completely biodegradable and non-toxic. Lube-En is safe for the user and the environment. The cold resistance of the lubricant is up to -35 °C.
The development of Lube-En, a non-toxic and environmentally harmless lubricant manufactured in Kouvola, began a couple of years ago, and its sales began after extensive field test periods.
“The product was developed together with professionals in the field before serial production started and it was brought to the required level, but we will continue to strive to improve the features even further. Forest machine entrepreneurs have found the environmentally friendly lubricant to work, and its operating properties are even better than mineral oil-based non-biodegradable lubricants. We have already gained extensive experience of the product, as Lube-En lubricant has already been delivered to well over three hundred contractors in Finland and deliveries have also started in Sweden,” says Lauri Eskola from EnviOn Oy.

“In the past, we have used about 5 litres of chain oil per day. Now, during Lube-E’s trial period, we have been able to adjust the consumption to just over 2 litres per day. Nevertheless, the tip wheels have lasted and there has been less need to wash the windows, as the oil mist does not remain on the glass but is wiped away. In the summer, it has been noticed that the substance does not react with urea, which is used as a carrier protector.”

“I replaced the blade chain with Lube-En lubrication system. I adjusted the blade chain to a lower lubrication level and the lubrication still works well. Consumption dropped considerably. Not bad at all.”
Frequently asked questions:
What should I consider before using Lube-En on my machine?
You can use Lube-E chain lubricant in the same way as other liquid lubricants for chain lubricants. We recommend cleaning the lubrication system as usual before applying a new type of lubricant to the system for the first time.
Can I pour Lube-En directly into the system?
Lube-En® can be poured directly into the system when the previous lubricant or steel chain oil has run out. However, we recommend that you clean the strainer of the lubrication system before using Lube-E® blade chain lubricant. It is advisable to clean the system from time to time to prevent any dirt that may have entered the system from moving and to block the lubricant channels in the system. A clogged lubricant channel causes e.g. flange damage fairly quickly.
Can I get rid of the harm caused by oil mist?
Most forest machine operators who have used liquid blade chain lubrication have encountered oil mist during sawing, which ends up on the windscreen of the forest machine and returns to the hot protective dampers of the machine. Due to oil, dust, resin and other dirt, visibility is obvious to the operator when the oil gets stuck in the glass of the machine. When wipers alone do not help, visibility problems must be eliminated by interrupting work during cleaning. In addition, wiper blades wear out faster and need more frequent replacement.
Lube-En® is a blade chain lubricant that adheres and forms a thin film surface between the blade chain and the flange, reducing fog flying onto the windscreen. Thanks to the solubility feature, any lubricant residues that have ended up on the windshield are easy to wipe off without damaging the wipers. The lubricant does not stick to other parts of the machine either, but is easy to wash off.
How does Lube-En chain lubricant come out of the jug in winter?
Lube-En® blade chain lubricant withstands cold temperatures down to -35 degrees. Lube-En® saw chain lubricant remains liquid even in severe frost, so it is easy to add it to the system even in cold weather. In addition, the material moves in the system right from the start of the work, which prevents e.g. the blade plate / flange tip wheel from drying right at the beginning of the shift. Lube-En® comes out of the jug without any additional heating methods.
How does lubricant work during stump protection time?
The contractors’ experience is that urea used as a stump protector does not impair the functionality of Lube-En. Although urea itself is not a lubricant, lubrication with Lube-En is maintained while driving even when carrying protection is done using the flange.
How does Lube-En behave in winter?
In winter, cold temperatures, water dripping from the sky, sleet, snow and other conditions such as snowy terrain are not an obstacle to using the Lube-En. Lube-En® works right from the start of the driving day, even in cold weather, and you can pick up where you left off.
How do I adjust the lubricant consumption of the saw chain with Lube-En lubricant?
We recommend starting with the level of saw chain lubrication that you used last time for a similar type of stamp. After this, it is advisable to make adjustments according to the logging object and gradually adjust the consumption to a lower level. In some forest machine models, it is not possible to adjust the lubrication level electrically, and the pump or its components in the system must be replaced with a smaller size class to reduce consumption.
Where can I buy Lube-En saw chain lubricant?
You can inquire about Lube-En blade chain lubricant directly from us. You can buy chain lubricant directly from us. We will also help you find our nearest partner in our dealer network.
Can I do logging work near water bodies when my machine has Lube-En blade chain lubricant?
Lube-En is an environmentally friendly, fully biodegradable and non-toxic product that can be used in certified forests and, for example, near water bodies when felling.
There are a lot of empty jugs, how can I dispose of them?
Jugs containing Lube-E® chain lubricant can be disposed of in accordance with local environmental regulations. The good thing is that Lube-En® jugs can be easily washed with water, after which the jugs are reusable.
