When the Finnish transport company Kuljetus S. Simpanen decided to order two new timber trucks, choosing superstructures from Alucar, the company’s long-time partner, was an easy decision. Siiri, who recently started her career as a driver at the family business, drives one of the trucks.
Alucar Customer Stories
2023 was an exciting year for Siiri Simpanen as her brand-new timber truck hit the road in early June. The truck is the second of Kuljetus S. Simpanen’s new Volvos, which were also displayed at the Finnish transport fair in May 2023. As usual, both trucks are equipped with Alucar superstructures.
– We have been really satisfied with the trucks. My truck, for example, has an electric crane and the option to remove the superstructure to install an energy container for transporting energy wood. The new crane required a bit of getting used to, but it turned out to be very easy to use, and now I wouldn’t trade it, Siiri says.
“Alucar Knows Our Needs”
All Kuljetus S. Simpanen trucks are equipped with Alucar superstructures. Siiri says they suit the company’s operations exceptionally well.
– I have no complaints; Alucar’s superstructures are practical and very durable. Our trucks are fitted with aluminum bodies, so their light weight is definitely a plus. Additionally, Alucar’s products look great!
According to Siiri, the ordering and planning process for the new Volvos went smoothly in collaboration with Alucar.
– Thanks to our long partnership with Alucar, they know our company and our needs. They create excellent drawings of the trucks in advance, which greatly simplifies our planning process for the superstructures.
Siiri has been familiar with the timber transport industry since she was young as her parents are the entrepreneurs behind Kuljetus S. Simpanen. The family business was originally founded by Siiri’s grandfather in 1968.

Currently, Siiri primarily drives long distances and says she really enjoys her job as a driver.
– Big trucks, an independent job, and being on the road have always fascinated me. This isn’t an easy job, but even with the new truck, things have been going really well. Plus, you learn something new every day. I absolutely encourage more women to pursue a career in transportation!
