Award-winning innovation: Nokian Tyres launches the industry’s first smart tyre technology with load-sensing to provide faster tyre pressure recommendations
Nokian Tyres launches Intuitu™ 2.0, the next-generation of smart tyre technology featuring smart pressure assistant with load-sensing. The technology received the prestigious Agritechnica Innovation Award presented by the German Agricultural Society DLG. For the first time in agriculture, farmers can get tyre pressure recommendations on the go, based on the tractor’s actual operating weight and use conditions, using just a tyre sensor and a smartphone. Available exclusively with Nokian Tyres Soil King VF tyres, this innovation helps maximize productivity, protect soil health, and extend tire life.

The new Intuitu™ 2.0 for Soil King VF tyres introduces load-sensing technology to provide precise tyre pressure recommendations based on the tractor’s actual operating weight and usage conditions. With sensors installed in the inner liner of the tyres, the system measures the load being carried. In the Intuitu mobile app, the user selects the working conditions, and within moments, the recommended pressures for road and field use are displayed. There is no need for specialised knowledge to calculate the tractor’s operating weight with implements and ballasting — all necessary data is available in one place, ensuring informed decisions.
“Without the Intuitu Smart Pressure Assistant, determining the correct tyre pressure requires significant time, expertise, and access to costly equipment such as weighbridges, axle scales, or digital tools that demand detailed input. Since this process must be repeated every time the tractor’s implements and ballasting change, it is too easily skipped altogether. As a result, farmers miss out on the full benefits of VF tyres,” says Matthew Crocker, Product Manager at Nokian Tyres.
Intuitu™ 2.0 was one of the Silver Medal winners of the Agritechnica Innovation Award selected by an independent jury of experts. A Silver Medal is awarded to innovations that represent a significant improvement to an existing product or process, have practical relevance and demonstrate enhanced reliability and efficiency, and have a positive environmental impact.
Correct tyre pressure: a critical factor in maximising agricultural performance
Tire pressure plays a crucial role in agricultural performance, yet it is often overlooked. With Intuitu™ 2.0, farmers can now fully unlock the benefits of premium Soil King VF tyres by ensuring the correct pressure in every situation. This means improved power transfer, lower fuel consumption, minimised soil compaction, and extended tyre life — helping farmers improve efficiency, boost productivity, and protect soil health for better crop yields over time.
Intuitu™ 2.0 will be available across all sizes of the Nokian Tyres Soil King VF tyre range. Soil King VF has received an award by the DLG (Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft) for its best-in-class performance in both field work and transport, delivering the highest tractive performance and the lowest specific fuel consumption under identical test conditions. Pairing this premium tyre with Intuitu™ 2.0 ensures farmers can consistently achieve these benefits in real-world operations.
Intuitu 2.0 to be presented at Agritechnica 2025
Nokian Tyres Intuitu 2.0 makes its first appearance at the agricultural trade fair Agritechnica 2025 in Hanover,
November 9–15. The capabilities of the innovation, including the load-sensing technology, will be showcased at stand 20B05. Visitors can explore how the application works and learn about the benefits the technology brings to everyday farming operations.
From first release to load-sensing: The evolution of Intuitu™
Intuitu™ 2.0 is an upgrade to Nokian Tyres’ smart tyre technology first introduced in 2019.
“Since its launch, users have valued the plug-and-play simplicity of the Intuitu™ solution. At Nokian Tyres, we are committed to advancing digital tyre technology to meet the evolving needs of agriculture professionals. With this latest innovation, we make real-time tractor tyre load measurement accessible and affordable — helping contractors and all professionals in the field work more efficiently every day,” says Nokian Tyres President & CEO Paolo Pompei.
The development of Intuitu 2.0 has been partially funded by Business Finland, a state-owned Finnish organization that supports innovation, and has been validated in collaboration with major global tractor manufacturers, ensuring its practical relevance and reliability in agricultural use.
