Malwa strong exports behind a new record year
Malwa Forest, a leading manufacturer of stand-operating forest machines, reports a strong 2023 with a turnover of SEK 162 million, a growth of almost 30%. Earnings rose significantly to SEK 14 million, which shows the company’s financial stability. The key success factor is a consistent and successful export initiative. The export share now accounts for 70% of total sales, which is an increase of 10% compared to the previous year. Hans Lindberg, CEO, comments:
“It was a really good year for Malwa, we continue to make records in delivered machines and are particularly proud of how well they are received by contractors in both existing and new markets. After a somewhat sluggish autumn, we have started 2024 with a strong order intake and I expect double-digit growth this year as well.”
At the same time as the export success continues, Malwa has conducted extensive thinning studies in collaboration with research institutes and industrial partners in important markets in Europe.
“These studies aim to clearly demonstrate the benefits of compact thinning machines and are an important part of Malwa’s long-term work to further strengthen our position as the standard-bearer for low impact forestry, both nationally and internationally.”

After series production of the new Malwa 980 harvester began in 2023, the plan is now to significantly increase the production rate for the model in 2024. Lindberg adds: “The fact that the new Malwa 980 is already in high demand and directly contributes to our growth is proof that the machine size is long-awaited by the market.
