The Nisula N6 harvester is now fully manufactured by Nisula.
Nisula Forest Oy has invested in a machine manufacturing and assembly plant in Jämsä, Finland. The first N6 harvesters manufactured entirely by Nisula are currently being completed in the new premises. In addition to assembly, in-house manufacturing of parts has also begun.
Previously, the basic machine was manufactured by Lännen Tractors Oy from Loimaa, and Nisula manufactured, among other things, cranes with tilt tables, wheel arms, hydraulics, control systems with controls, and other final assembly in terms of forest equipment.
In previous models, the frame, transmission and engine of the base machine were based on the same structure as the Lännen backhoe loader.
The new N6 is designed solely for forest use, which means that all machine frame structures, components and features are designed and dimensioned according to demanding felling work.
The completely renewed structure of the base machine together with the more powerful Nisula P100 motion path crane enable the use of not only the Nisula 500 series, but also the more robust 555 series harvester heads.
This provides the customer with an efficient and economical package that is ideally suited from the first thinning all the way to the latest clearance fellings.
The machine range consists of three different versions; The four- and six-wheel N6 with an optimal trajectory crane for thinning work, and the six-wheeled N6e optimised for harvesting energy wood, equipped with an Epsilon S110F96 articulated boom crane with a higher near-lift height made for this machine model.

All models can also be equipped with a Nisula 335E+ collecting energy grapple, which can be easily replaced with a harvesting head. Equipped with a harvesting head and an energy grapple, the unit is a true multifunctional machine that is easy to employ all year round.
The Nisula N6 can also be equipped with a road transport package that enables machine transfers at speeds of up to 40 km/h.
The production and support functions of N6 machines and harvesters are now completely under the same roof, and matters related to design, manufacturing, assembly and product support are handled from the factory all the way to maintenance.
With the investment in machine manufacturing, overall management has become clearer and more flexible, enabling more straightforward operations in terms of product development and customer support.
Direct supplier contacts, own production stock and part manufacturing ensure the rapid availability of parts, both for production and as spare parts for customers. The high degree of self-manufacturing enables smooth operation even in a challenging situation with component availability, such as in recent years.
The machine manufacturing project also creates a need for additional workforce for the factory, such as assembly and part manufacturing tasks.
Development stages of Nisula N series harvesters:
- 2010 Nisula’s first thinning machine equipped for a Lännen chassis machine.
- 2012 Nisula N4 with trajectory loader.
- 2014 renewed machine model Nisula N5.
- 2018 will also see the introduction of the six-wheeled N5.
- In 2022, deliveries of the all-new Nisula N6 machine will begin.
- 2024 N6 fully manufactured by Nisula.
Nisula’s N-series thinning harvester, which has been on the market for more than ten years, has been completely renewed to better meet the needs of thinning. The common thread running through the design was to develop a thinning harvester that was as appropriate as possible below mainstream machines. The new N6 is ideal for first thinning and final loosening. The surface pressure of the six-wheeled half-track machine towards the forest floor is comfortably low, which means that work can be done even in the summer. Based on the feedback, many forest owners have welcomed Nisula’s six-wheeled thinning harvester for thinning their peat-based stands, also in the summer. The new N6 is a true thinning harvester in terms of features, physical size and weight.
