TMK Machinery Oy has acquired Metallikoneistamo Piippo Oy’s Piippo Hydraulic business
TMK Machinery Oy, a manufacturer of contracting attachments based in Hankasalmi, has acquired the Piippo Hydraulic business from Metallikoneistamo Piippo Oy, located in Kiuruvesi. Following this business transaction, the design, manufacturing, and sales of Piippo Hydraulic’s high-quality hydraulic valves will transfer to and become part of TMK Machinery’s growing product and service portfolio.

With this acquisition, TMK Machinery strengthens its strategic expertise in hydraulics and expands its product portfolio into hydraulic valves. The Piippo Hydraulic valves developed by Metallikoneistamo Piippo Oy are well-known for their reliability and premium domestic quality in both Finnish and international markets.
40 years of accumulated expertise passed forward as the entrepreneur retires The acquisition ensures the preservation and continuity of Finnish hydraulic expertise built up over decades. Terho Piippo, the long-time entrepreneur of Metallikoneistamo Piippo Oy, is highly committed to a close post-transaction transition phase.
He will support TMK Machinery over the coming months to guarantee a smooth transfer of all technical expertise, manufacturing methods, and customer relationships to the new owner.
Following this transition period, Piippo will head into a well-deserved retirement. “I have had a long and rewarding career in hydraulics, and finding a reliable, domestic successor for Piippo Hydraulic was of paramount importance to me,” says Terho Piippo.

Production moves to Hankasalmi during summer 2026
The manufacturing of Piippo Hydraulic products will be integrated into TMK Machinery’s modern production facility in Hankasalmi during the summer of 2026. This relocation aims to improve operational reliability, efficiency, and to provide broader resources for product development.

The transfer of the business operations and manufacturing will be planned and executed seamlessly, meaning it will have no immediate impact on Piippo Hydraulic’s current customer accounts or orders. Product deliveries and the online store will continue as usual, and customers will be served going forward with the reinforced resources of TMK Machinery.
