“The DH7 offers a more efficient and durable solution for harvesting eucalyptus plantations. We have developed it from an operating cost perspective: easy maintenance, better structural durability and improved fuel economy have a direct impact on the productivity of harvesting,” says Markku Savolainen, Ponsse’s Product Manager for harvester heads.
The DH7 harvester head can be used on Ponsse harvesters (Cobra, Ergo and Bear) and on track-based machines.
Customer-oriented development for plantation harvesting
The feed speed of the new harvester head is up to six metres per second. The DH7 comes as standard with the Opti 5G information system and the OptiFeedControl logic, which simplifies the control of the harvester head and the debarking of eucalyptus stems.
In terms of optional equipment, an HH360 rotator is available, enabling unlimited rotation of the harvester head and thus increasing the smoothness of harvesting. The rotator also extends the service life of the connection hoses even further.
“The new DH7 strengthens Ponsse’s position as a developer of harvesting solutions for eucalyptus plantations. It is important for us to be close to our customers in areas where plantations are a key part of forestry. We develop products that deliver clear, practical benefits in day-to-day harvesting,” says Marko Mattila, Ponsse’s Chief Sales, Service and Marketing Officer.
The previous Ponsse debarking harvester head model (H7HD Euca) will also remain in the product range, meaning that customers can choose the product that best suits their operations. Both harvester heads offer reliable measurement accuracy for harvesting professionals.
