New Ponsse Saw Lubrication System using Grease for H6, H7 and H8 Harvesting Heads

The Ponsse Saw Lubricartion Greasing System is a new accessory available for Ponsse’s harvester heads as a saw chain lubrication system. The system feeds lubricating grease to the saw chain from grease cartridges to be screwed in accordance with the dosing settings made via the Opti5G information system. Warm grease cartridges ensure efficient lubrication throughout the shift.

“Especially in very cold weather, this is a solution that makes the forest machine operator’s everyday life easier. The grease cartridges replace the fixed grease tank in the harvester head, so in the future, cold grease no longer needs to be pumped from the external container to the grease tank of the harvester head. The cartridge is quick and easy to replace. The cartridges are easy to transport and can be stored in a warm place, for example in a car or in a cab,” says Toni Rajaniemi, Project Manager at Ponsse.

The lubrication system can hold two 400-gram threaded cartridges, with a duration of approximately 8–16 hours, depending on the amount of sawing and the dosing settings. The dosing settings can be adjusted from the Opti 5G information system according to the situation and need. The information system will notify the driver when it is time to replace the cartridge.

Ponsse’s selection includes grease cartridges suitable for different uses, such as mineral oil-based grease or new grease based on biodegradable oils. The Ponsse Greasing System is currently available for new forest machines in Finland for PONSSE H6, H7 and H8 harvester heads.
