Last week, the 100th Generation 38 Pm Trac rolled off the production line at the Rettenbach am Auerberg factory. It was delivered to the Swiss importer Rappo. This milestone also marks more than 20 years of consistent development of a unique machine design
Pfanzelt Maschinenbau-From the first Pm Trac to Generation 38
The history of the Pfanzelt Maschinenbau Pm Trac stretches back more than two decades. After an initial presentation of the machine concept at ZLF 2004, Pfanzelt unveiled the Pm Trac 2355 at Agritechnica in Hanover in 2005, and production began. Even then, Pfanzelt had a clear vision: to develop a versatile system tractor tailored to the needs of professional users.

A defining feature from the outset was the centrally positioned cab with a swivelling driver’s seat. Combined with flexible attachment and mounting options, this resulted in a vehicle concept suitable for a wide variety of tasks.

In 2013, the Pm Trac III marked the next major step in its development. For the first time, the Pm Trac was fitted with a vehicle chassis developed by Pfanzelt. Over the years, the system tractor has undergone continuous further development – with the aim of tailoring even more components specifically to the high demands of professional use.
Pfanzelt Maschinenbau will be one of our visits during our Forestors Trip to Germany and Austria next May. If you would like more details regarding this please email

Generation 38 – consistently ‘made by Pfanzelt’
With the Generation 38, this development has reached a new level. The vehicle is now based on a tractor chassis developed almost entirely by Pfanzelt. This includes, amongst other things, the continuously variable, power-split variaDRIVE transmission and the planetary-driven rear axle.
Three engine options, delivering 205, 253 and 292 PS, allow the machine to be adapted to a wide variety of operational requirements. The centrally positioned XXL comfort cab and swivelling driver’s seat ensure optimum visibility of the machine and its attachments.
Versatility remains a key feature: Several mounting and attachment points, as well as the Pfanzelt System Attachment (PSA), let you quickly equip the Pm Trac for a variety of tasks. From professional forestry work with a winch and skidding crane to operations with forestry cutters and chippers, and even landscape maintenance, a single machine can handle a wide range of tasks.
In use with our customers
Number 100 is heading to Switzerland
With the delivery of the 100th Generation 38 Pm Trac, the latest generation has now reached a special milestone. We handed the anniversary machine over to our Swiss importer, Rappo, this week, and it is now on its way to its future place of operation in Switzerland.
A great deal has changed technically since the first Pm Trac models in 2005 up to today’s Generation 38. The basic idea, however, has remained the same: to develop a machine that combines maximum versatility with the demands of professional use.
For us, therefore, 100 Generation 38 Pm Tracs are more than just a number. They represent the continuous development of a machine concept, manufacturing expertise from the Allgäu region and, above all, the trust of our customers and partners.
Made in Germany – how a Pm Trac is made
From the vehicle chassis to final assembly, we manufacture the Pm Trac at our plant in Rettenbach am Auerberg in the Allgäu region. A high degree of vertical integration and the in-house development of key components enable us to design the vehicle specifically to meet the demands of professional use.
