IINTERFORST 2022

Preparations are in full swing for INTERFORST, which will take place on the Messe München exhibition grounds from July 17 to 20. The exhibition management of the leading international trade fair for forestry and forest technology gives an insight into the planning, says what participants can look forward to and explains why the industry is optimistic about the event.

Where will you be from July 17 to 20, 2022?

Nicole van Paassen, Exhibition Manager: “In Hall B6 and the outdoor exhibition grounds of Messe München, of course—in other words: at INTERFORST. I’m tempted to be tongue in cheek and say, ‘Where else?’. I’ve been involved in the project since early on in the planning. So naturally I’m really excited for the start of the trade fair and I’m already looking forward to seeing everything we’ve come up with for the industry put into action in July. Nothing beats human interaction. In-person exchange and experience with all the senses is the only way to unlock creativity and come up with something new.”

What is your customers’ feedback like so far?

Petra Westphal, Exhibition Director: “The responses are really very good—from exhibitors and partners alike. All the industry giants along the entire value chain have already registered for INTERFORST. There will also be very promising presentations from Eastern Europe with a focus on the Czech Republic and the supporting program is also increasingly taking shape. We are noticing that companies want to come back to trade fairs, show off products and meet customers. As the first big international forestry trade fair since the start of the pandemic, INTERFORST offers exactly this. Of course, we are also facing challenges, with a calendar full of trade fairs for the industry, an uncertain political situation and so on. With our three key topics ‘Forest Status – Climate Change,’ ‘Forest Maintenance – Utilization Lines,’ and ‘Forest Technology—Digitalization,’ we are right on trend and are setting the course for the future of the industry. The ticket orders of our trade visitors are currently 20 percent higher than the orders from 2018. This development shows us that the forestry industry is waiting for answers on these topics.”

What can visitors and participants look forward to?

Jasmin Regiert, Exhibition Manager: “First of all to the live event. At a trade fair like INTERFORST, personal exchange and seeing products live on site are essential. This year we will also be offering an extensive supporting program, including the DLG ForstPraxisArena, where experts will demonstrate machines in action. One real highlight this year has to be the high degree of innovation. Because there have been no trade fairs for a long time, many companies will be using INTERFORST to present their innovations and new products to an eager specialist audience for the first time.”
